At our training facility, advanced obedience training is designed for dogs that have already mastered basic commands and are ready to take their skills to the next level. This level of training goes beyond simple obedience, focusing on refining commands, improving impulse control, and enhancing communication between you and your dog. Whether you’re preparing for competitive events or just seeking better control in real-world situations, advanced obedience sets the stage for exceptional behavior.

Mastering complex commands

In advanced obedience in Alexandria, we build on the basics by introducing more complex commands and behaviors. Dogs learn to respond reliably to commands from a distance, work off-leash, and follow multi-step instructions. Examples include extended stays even in high-distraction environments, advanced recall (come) under any circumstance, and more precise heel work. These skills ensure that your dog remains attentive and responsive regardless of external stimuli.

Enhancing impulse control

One of the key focuses of advanced training at Connecting K9 is improving your dog’s impulse control. Dogs are taught to stay calm and focused even in challenging situations, such as around other animals, food, or noisy environments. By reinforcing patience and self-control, we help your dog remain composed and well-behaved, even in the face of distractions or exciting scenarios.

Therefore, you'll come over after 2 weeks to work with your dog and you'll be working with the dog at the end of the training course.
